Huge gap in price i payed at open,

and the high for the day.. IMUC closed at 2.37 yesterday.. i put in a market buy for this morning.. I paid $3.00 yet yahoo says it opened at $2.45 and the days high is $2.65.. that is a huge discrepancy.. starting the contest 50,000 in the hole at 8:30 in the morning.. the stock is moving up close to what the days high is listed, and i am still in the whole 35 cents a share!!

___________________________________________________________________________________________________ When you place a market buy order before market open your order will be filled at the opening ask price. If, in the real world, nobody pays that price you will have the situation you have described.

Most of the time I use a limit buy ,  I don't always get the stock if the limit I set is too low but it does eliminate paying a higher price than I want to pay.

Re: Huge gap in price i payed at open,

i was going to mention that the spread of the bid/ask was wide but i cant find any spread on it because it is OTC. so that is 1 of the possibilities is the spread the other is it is trading OTC and that can also have wild swings . just remember as a retail investor you will always pay the higher price and get the lower price when you sell ,you will never get market quote .
