Hey everyone,

With all the talk lately of trying to find alternative sourses for energy and for heat other that oil and coal. You hear about the usual major renewable energy sources like solar, wind, hydroelectric. But one area that I think investors are overlooking as well as the general public is the area of GEOTHERMAL.

I was trying to find some research on some good geothermal companies to add to myu portfolio for this game, but had a hard toime finding any, or even much research on this very viable renewable source. 

Comments/ Ideas/Suggestions? 

Does anyone know where I can get some reliable research on this area. Or does anyone know of any Geothermal companies I can buy stock in?? Or does anyone have  anything in the geothermal area?? 

 

 

go to street.com maybe ask Cramer will give some feed back.  That would be a good stock to invest.  It might be that geothermal is connected with some other energy company as a sub-division?????

 Yeah I would think the same, check alternative energy stocks. That should be some good research/reading

Here's an episode of e2 (a great series, BTW) about a project in China with a huge geothermal component. Perhaps it'll have some leads for you (I haven't seen this ep yet).

 The only setback for geothermal energy is that it is only economicall-feasable in certain areas. I know many cities out in the northwest are run mostly of geothermal energy. Its harder to do it out east though.

I know that geothermal energy is a big thing in Iceland, so they are taking advantage of geothermal energy to heat their water and use it for other uses. I wish we could do the same here in the United States, as that would save us a lot on fuel costs to heat our homes and get hot water.
